Cantor, Choir, Song Leader, Shaliach Tzibur — How do you like your services? KE Member Elaine Moise will speak about models of traditional and not so traditional services that have emerged in the 20th and 21st centuries, and some music associated with each. Elaine has been playing and studying music, one way or another, since she was five years old. This has included Master's Degrees in Voice and Music History and additional graduate work in Musicology. Elaine played and sang in a Klezmer group, The Klezmakers (along with fellow Kol Emeth member Tom Belick); two of her compositions for the group may be heard on their album, Garage Waltz. Elaine has created liturgical and para-liturgical songs in both Hebrew and English and loves learning nusach.
