There are lots of ways to record our stories—and lots of ways to procrastinate. KE member and published writer, Esther Erman, will lead a four-part writers' workshop series on Zoom to gather, share stories, and encourage each other to record our family stories, for now and the future. Join us to look at questions, concerns, and different methods—and unleash your creativity! Participants will be encouraged to form pairs or small groups to work together. Esther will be available to offer support between classes.

Workshop 1 on Feb. 5: Recording family stories (questions, concerns, formats, resources)
Workshop 2 on Feb. 19: Reporting on progress (questions and concerns that have come up)
Workshop 3 on Feb. 26: Seeking publication for your story (paths forward and resources for those interested)
Workshop 4 on DATE TBD: Checking in to see progress and questions that have come up

Esther's Bio: I arrived in the US at age five months with my parents, Shoah survivors from Poland. Yiddish was my first language, which I abandoned at age five when I learned English -- igniting my passion for language. Not surprisingly, I became a language teacher. A proud New Jerseyan, I earned my BA and MA in French and Ed.D. in Language Education from Rutgers. Along with language, I'm passionate about literature and writing. I've written numerous fiction and non-fiction titles, including my doctoral dissertation on the effects of the Shoah on the Yiddish language. Though I never intended to go west of Chicago, my plans changed when I met Lee Erman at Eilat Chaim in upstate New York in 1993. My other great passion is being his wife and the mother of my son Greg, who lives in England, my daughter Caryn, in NJ, and my two grandsons, Ben and Matthew, based in England.
