Susan recently received her Laughter Yoga leader certification. Laughter Yoga is an exercise program developed by Indian physician Dr. Madan Kataria where anyone can laugh without relying on humor, jokes, or comedy. It combines laughter exercises with yoga breathing techniques (Pranayama) which brings more oxygen to our body and brain, helping us feel more energetic and healthier. Ten to fifteen minutes of laughter yoga exercises can reduce stress, make your immune system stronger and keep your mind positive during challenging times. It is practiced in more than 110 countries.
The Laughter Yoga session will be about 45 minutes and includes some gentle stretching, a lot of laughter, deep breathing, and Savasana. There are no yoga "poses" and a mat is not required unless you would like one for the final cool down. Please wear comfortable clothing and, if you so choose, you may want to remove your shoes.
