Israeli Politics Session #2 with Alon Tal

Tuesday, January 14, 2025 14 Tevet 5785

7:30 PM - 9:30 PM

Join Rabbi Booth in discussion with three guest speakers who will share different visions of what Israel can and should be going into the future. Please note that all three presenters are likely to challenge us. The purpose of inviting each one is to get insight into a different worldview so that we as a community can better understand the stakes and narratives.

This series meets on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 pm in the Community Room and on Zoom. You are welcome to attend one, two, or all three sessions after registering below. The Zoom link will be shared via email after you register.

Each session will feature a different guest speaker:

January 7 - Ahmed Fouab Alkhatib | Ahmed is a proud American from Gaza City. He is pro-Palestine and anti Hamas/violence. He is pro peace and coexistence. A fellow at the Washington Institute, Ahmed is emerging as a key voice for a Gazan view that can lead to peace.

January 14 - Professor Alon Tal | Alon is a leader in the Israeli environmental movement and a member of the Israeli Resilience Party led by Benny Gantz. A former member of Knesset, Alon is a proponent of a liberal Jewish state at peace with its neighbors.

January 28 - Rav Joshua Weisberg | Rav Weisberg, a frequent visitor to Kol Emeth, is part of the Religious Zionist world. Himself not so political, he will address the spiritual elements of this political philosophy.
