Judaism offers a wealth of wisdom about death, all of which begins with deep respect for the human body. Taharah is the purification ritual performed by the Chevra Kadisha (literally, the "holy society") before the body is buried.

As we look to revive our Peninsula Masorti Chevra Kadisha, a partnership between Kol Emeth, Beth Jacob, and Peninsula Sinai, we are holding a Tahara training session on February 2, led by Professor Louis Newman. If you are interested in joining our Chevra Kadisha, or you just want to learn more about what the Chevra Kadisha does, please join us.
