Michelle Oberman, Katharine and George Alexander Professor of Law, Santa Clara University School of Law

Professor Oberman is an internationally recognized scholar on the legal and ethical issues surrounding adolescence, pregnancy and motherhood. Her current research focuses on reproductive health and abortion regulation in countries with widely divergent abortion laws: El Salvador, Israel, Ireland, and the United States. Her recent work includes a  2018 book, Her Body, Our Laws: On the Frontlines of the Abortion War from El Salvador to Oklahoma and two recent articles, What Will & Won't Happen When Abortion is Banned; How Abortion Laws Do & Don't Work. (For those who are interested, the latter article describes Israel's abortion committees). Registration is required.
