The Kol Emeth Institute for Meaningful Learning is a new center for adult education. Offering a variety of classes from cerebral to experiential, we will explore all kinds of Jewish content from texts to textiles! Classes will meet on Tuesdays from 10:30am-12:00pm, followed by an optional community lunch in our Kol Emeth Tea Room.

We are excited to launch with a 3 session Elul series designed to help us prepare intellectually and spiritually for the High Holidays. There are two class options to choose from:

Class Descriptions:
  • On Repentance: The Thought of Joseph Soloveitchik
    Taught By Rabbi David Booth
In anticipation of the Holidays, Rabbi Soloveitchik delivered a series of lectures on the function and process of Teshuvah or repentance. Come study selections of this text as we orient ourselves towards a Yom Kippur that can cleanse, comfort, and change us.
    (Class is free to attend)

  • L'Aylah U'L'Aylah: Elevating Our Souls Through Art
Taught by Rabbi Sarah Graff and Morat Derech Sarah Miller
"Like clay in the hands of the potter, so are you in My hand, O House of Israel." (from the Yom Kippur liturgy)
The High Holidays are an opportunity to reflect as well as re-shape who we want to be in the new year. In this space, we will discuss, write, paint, and more, as we explore the themes of the holidays and the people we want to become.  On September 13 (the second class), we'll have the opportunity to paint our own ceramic kiddush cups, honey dishes, or challah plates to bring some new beauty into our holidays.
(Class has a $20 materials fee)

The Kol Emeth Tea Room is a new menu of assorted salads, pastries, and beverages designed and prepared by our very own Pepe Sanchez!
(Lunch is $15/person per week)
