Think you have what it takes to win Project Sukkah’s first season? Ribbons for placement in your category and KE schwag will also be awarded.

Religious requirements for the sukkah:

  • More than 50% enclosed
  • Materials must be solid, such as wood or stretched canvas
  • The roof can have support framing but must be made of plant material that has been harvested or cut
  • There must be more shade than sun, and you must be able to see stars at night

Required submission materials:

  • Hand drawn or computer drafted scale accurate drawings that are understandable to lay-builders
  • Hand drawn, computer rendered, or 3D models showing inside and outside views, including the placement of any decorations such as string lights, art, etc.
  • A comprehensive materials list with quantities and cost estimates for all materials
  • Readily available supplies with a named and confirmed source for all materials
  • 720-900 square feet of usable space inside the sukkah

The judging criteria:

  • Creativity
  • Adherence to religious requirements
  • Cost effectiveness
  • Ability for plans to be followed by lay-builders
