We are delighted to welcome back the charismatic and talented Cantor Joanna Dulkin to join us for a special Shabbat of music and song!


Friday, January 6th

Friday Night: Come sing and celebrate Camp Ramah and Camp Kennect in a Sephardic way!  Join us for singing as we welcome Kabbalat Shabbat, featuring Hazzan Joanna Dulkin! 

The services will be followed by a delicious dinner and Shabbat songs (zmirot). Cantor Dulkin will bring some wonderful modern piyyutim, Jewish liturgical songs, for us to learn and sing.

6:00 pm Friday night services in the Sephardic mode
7:00 pm Delicious dinner
8:00 - 9:00 pm  Friday singing, ruach and piyyutim


Saturday, January 7th

On Shabbat: Cantor Dulkin will bring her amazing leadership and energy into Shabbat morning service and lead our singing group after kiddush. Singing around 1:15 pm.

7:00 pm Havdalah and Malevah Malkeh ("accompanying the bride") - join Cantor Dulkin, Rabbi Booth, Rabbi Graff, and Sarah Miller as we sing and tell stories as we bring light into darkness, and hope into our world.

 

About Hazzan Dulkin:

As the Hazzan of Adath Jeshurun in Minneapolis MN, Joanna Selznick Dulkin is committed to innovative musical and spiritual leadership that inspires joy. connection and meaning at all ages and stages.

She received her Masters of Sacred Music and Investiture from the Jewish Theological Seminary in 2004, and completed the Institute for Jewish Spirituality's Cantorial Leadership Program in 2007. A Palo Alto native, she grew up playing in Mitchell Park, biking to school at Ohlone, JLS and Gunn, and participating in 12 years of Children's Theatre programming.

She is an honors graduate of Stanford University, where she studied English, sang a cappella, and led community High Holiday Services at Hillel. Watch a video introduction of Hazzan Dulkin Here
