GRADES 3-4

Hebrew Class
When: Tuesdays 4:30pm - 5:30pm

Link to Registration
Students meet on Zoom for an hour of language instruction every Tuesday. After learning the alef-bet, students begin decoding Hebrew words and practice reading the prayers. We recognize that language acquisition is a very individualized process. We match our students’ learning styles and pace with the curricular content and goals that will help prepare them for B'nai Mitzvah and beyond. Our students have a lead teacher, a madrich (teen teacher's assistant), and a "chevruta" partner. In addition to this hour on Tuesdays, students can sign up for 30-minute private sessions with one of our madrichim. This will be scheduled directly with the teen tutor and the family.

First Fridays (K-8th)
When: Friday evenings once a month
Registration: Look out for our monthly email, or email maytal@kolemeth.org

First Friday is our monthly Kabbalat Shabbat program designed for grades K-8th, usually held on the first Friday of the month. The evening includes activities around a special theme, a musical Kabbalat Shabbat, and dinner. By designing these services for kids, we make the liturgy more accessible to our learners and expose them to the prayers and songs we do at Shabbat evening services. A few times a year, First Friday is replaced by Family Havdalah.
