“Faith is more like music than like science. Science analyzes; music integrates. And, as music connects note to note, so faith connects episode to episode, life to life, age to age in a timeless melody that breaks into time.” - Rabbi Jonathan Sachs

From prayer and text to celebration and entertainment, music has been an integral part of the Jewish experience since Biblical times. It fills our hearts and lifts our souls. It builds community and creates lasting memories.

The benefits of early childhood music programs specifically have been studied and proven. From birth, babies are actively absorbing the world around them. Research has shown that there is a definite connection between music education and child development, as musical experiences create and strengthen neural pathways in every area of a child’s brain.

Our program is designed to complement and enhance each child’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth. These 45-minute classes are designed to build a foundation for language, math, and science, as well as foster a deep love of Jewish celebrations, values, and community. Classes follow the Jewish holiday cycle with additional units that highlight Jewish values, rituals, and Bible stories.

Classes are taught by our Kol Emeth Music Specialist, Tyler Dean. Both Tyler and Morat Derech Sarah have completed training and are certified in Kindermusik, a renowned early childhood music curriculum. This training has informed the Wiggles & Giggles curriculum and has deepened their educational skills and knowledge for this age group group.

There are 4 levels to the Wiggles & Giggles program:

Level 0 (ages 0-1 year) - Ducklings  ברווזונים (Barvazonim)
Level 1 (ages 1-2 years) - Puppies  כלבים (Klavim)
Level 2 (ages 2-3 years) - Kittens  חתולים   (Chatoolim)
Level 3 (ages 3-5 years) - Foals  סוסונים  (Soosonim)

While they are listed with a suggested age range, children should attend the class that best matches their developmental stage.  A development age chart can be found here.
